Hi everyone! I’m Mim – also known as SdV – and I’m delighted to be a contributor to belledemoiselle. I am a Malaysian currently living in Melbourne, Australia where we get four seasons in a day and it can get super warm and super cold which leads to all sorts of attempts to normalise my skin.

This is me:

And my skin profile:

Skin type
I have medium tan skin with olive (in summer) and yellow (in winter) undertones. From childhood my skin has been oily, but currently it is combination-dry with some sensitive areas especially around the cheeks.

Skin ailments
I had acne from young and because I was stubborn and did not take care of my skin, it got steadily worse notwithstanding the dermatologist prescribed cleansers and treatments. I mainly used benzoyl peroxide. My skin calmed down in my early twenties due to my active skincare regime and taking the pill but late 2012 I got a a bad rash of pimples along my cheeks, I think due to cosmetics. My skin currently suffers from 1-2 pimples from hormones or stress with pigmentation and acne scars along my cheeks. It is also mostly dehydrated.

Skin Reactions
I don’t like anything too oily or thick but it mainly breaks out due to hormones and stress or bad cosmetics. Hence I’m very fastidious about cleansing my face.

Makeup
I am a certified makeup junkie. This is what happens when you work regularly with awesome makeup artists who keep showing you awesome new products. Suffice to say I change products depending on my mood so I can’t give a list of things I generally use. Here are a few of my favourite brands: MAC (face, eyeshadows and blushes), Stila (eyeshadows and highlighters), Urban Decay (eyeshadows and liners), Illamasqua (lipsticks and blushes), Revlon (lipsticks), Clinique (lipsticks), Topshop (highlighters), Maybelline (cream eyeshadows)…..I could keep going.
