Hi darlings. Gosh it look me absolutely ages to write this review, it was difficult pulling the words out and not particularly because the product was bad or anything but for some reason I couldn’t just sit and write!

I came across the Smashbox Travel Size Full Exposure Palette randomly  at the check out aisle at Sephora (as you do) and just had to pick it up. I must have been in the mood to shop and was seriously annoyed I couldn’t find anything to buy (as I do). This little palette is a mini of the 14 pan Full Exposure palette, Smashbox’s answer to Urban Decay’s Naked. The Full Exposure palette is all neutral shades of beige, browns, greys and black, with shimmer on the top row and matte on the second which makes it very versatile. The Travel echoes the same, with a selection of some of the key colours.

The shades (from the top) are described as:
– chocolate brown with golden pearl
– soft gold with gold and silver pearl
– light tan with gold and silver pearl
– midtone slate with slate pearl
– matte warm chocolate brown
– soft matte midtone tan
– creamy matte beige
– ashy dark brown

Firstly, I love that this palette has both shimmer and matte formulas, and not just the 1 or 2 throwaway matte shades. I found both formulas really smooth and very pigmented which is rare with most brands who often just does one or the other really well. I did experience a little bit of fall out and tapping my brush into the eyeshadows kick some some dust but nothing a little tap off doesn’t fix. The shades were really easy to blend, although by the end of the day they had all melted together and creased, which works if you like the lived in look, not so much for taking you from day to night.

Packaging wise, this palette is house in a dinky plastic case just a little bigger than my palm. It is extremely travel friendly as it’s also quite slim, although it perhaps doesn’t feel as durable as the usual sized palette. It also comes with a mirror in the cover. I think it’ll be so easy and useful to bring this along when on vacation and if you’re a neutral lover or someone who tends to just stick to the basics when travelling (like me), this palette is awesome. If however you like variety and fun colours, then perhaps not (although you could always bring extra coloured liners to jazz up a neutral look?)

The Smashbox Travel Size Full Exposure Palette is a solid one and a nice way to try out Smashbox if you don’t want to shell out for the full size. Now the question is, do I buy the Travel Size Double Exposure palette?
