What a change a year makes! I am now in Dubai, spending my first Christmas in the slightly chillier dessert air. An 8 foot Canadian fir has been ordered in, decorations have been bought, presents are being wrapped, stockings strung up. I’m very much looking forward to spending a proper Christmas.
The shops are already pumping out plenty of holiday gifts, here are some lovely bits and bobs for the special lady in your life, whether a lover, sister, mom or grandma. Enjoy.
Charlotte Tilbury has a beautiful new holiday set out called the Supermodel Genius Tutorial Video Box, and it is limited edition and presented in luxurious packaging. What is great about her line is that everything is colour coordinated and really easy to use and you can choose to buy a ‘whole look’ of products or individual pieces. The star of this particular collection has to be the eyeshadow palette which has four neutral shades with a very pretty star motive engraved on top. The box also has a video feed tutorial to take you through the look. Perfect for the sophisticated lady in your life. USD 290.
If you liked the look of the Tilbury but couldn’t afford the price tag, Chanel’s Reve D’Orient is a good dupe of the eyeshadow palette. It contains three similar neutral shades with the addition of a gilded gold, all marked with a star motive. The formula of the shadows is the same as the recently reformulated releases of Chanel, meaning you are getting more pigment and a creamier consistency. Perfect for a stocking stuffer. USD 70.
Speaking of stocking stuffers, how cute is this Sugar Wishes set from Fresh? It contains a full sized Sugar Lip Balm which smells amazingly yummy (sweet and citrusy) and a deluxe sized Lip Scrub. This is great for keeping your lips nourished, soft and kissable especially in the colder months, and will delight young and old alike. You can even hang this on the Christmas tree as a gift ornament! USD 28.
Urban Decay has some of the best gift sets around, including this super fun Lipstick Stash with 6 mini lipsticks from the Revolution line and one full size clear lip pencil. Shades range from nude to red, enough to cover all of a lipstick junkie’s needs. And it’s an absolute steal at USD 39.
If you’re looking for something more luxurious, Tom Ford has a matching Lip & Nail set of their classic shades for the discerning lady in your life. I have unexpectedly never tried Tom Ford’s line but I love the idea of this set, with Spanish Pink, their best selling nude shade and Bruised Plum, which looks like a gorgeous bordeaux red. Comes in an elegant box ready for gift wrapping. USD 160
For nail polish lovers, NailsInc Be Gelous Collection features six of their Gel Effect Nail Polishes. I had previously reviewed this line and absolutely love the formula. This collection even have my new favourite shade in Uptown, a very pretty pinky-beigey nude. You can even break up the collection and gift to various friends as stocking stuffers! USD 42
I recently had an Elemis facial with some girlfriends and quite enjoyed it. I tried their tri-enzyme facial which is essentially what this Reveal Radiant Skin gift set provides- a collection of their tri-enzyme products including cleanser, serum, moisturizer, mask and balm to target fine lines, scarring and uneven skin tone. Lovely little set for some pampering or an introduction to the line. USD 152.
Every gift guide has to have a perfume, but why gift one when you can do with five? Jo Malone’s Cologne Collection has 5 miniatures of their best selling scents including two new releases; Peony and Blush Suede and Wood Sage and Sea Salt. These perfumes can be layered to create bespoke scents and are even travel sized which means they’re easy to tote on holidays or even in handbags. USD 110.
Taking a breather from makeup and other cosmetics, take a look at these pretty delicate bangles from Kate Spade. There are many designs to choose from including this oversized gold bow, as well as a knot bangle and colorful enamel ones with idioms on the inside. They make for really chic gifts, just really modern and feminine. USD 78.
Finally, why not gift a personalized Bath Soak from The Bathory to a loved one? This is a nifty concept which allows you to choose from three bath experiences (such as bask, soothe or detox) and to add various oils to create your own personal blend. Absolutely fantastic and who wouldn’t love bath time during Christmas? Perfectly unisex too, the bottle wouldn’t look out of place for your boyfriend or father and I’m sure they’ll appreciate a man-spa! USD 30.
And that’s it lovelies! Have a brilliant time decorating and shopping and spending time with your family, enjoy the holidays! Let us know what’s on your christmas list 😉
