I’m back with another YSL product! My makeup lovelies out there, you know how I absolutely love this brand so prepare for more lusting.
The Terre Saharienne Powder (what a mouthful) is a matte version of their normal line. Here is what the website says:
“Easy to wear matte bronzer available in 3 complimentary shades: light, medium and dark. Add dimension and warmth that will leave your skin flawless and radiant without the shimmer of our existing palletes.”
Well, I guess even a huge fashion house can misspell words. Anyways, this collection is part of their permanent line and so far there are only three shades. I picked up the darkest – in 30 Halee -with the intention to use it as both a bronzer and contouring powder.
The product is housed in a sturdy dark brown black casing with the YSL logo and motif stamped down the middle. It comes in a little velvet pouch, which while it is wasted packaging, does make it rather luxurious. There is also a large mirror inside although I find that I never do use compact mirrors.
I first swatched this in Melbourne and loved how it looked and picked it up in Singapore Tangs Orchard. The powder is a mid tone brown with an orange undertone. In the pan it feels velvet to the touch, the powder is soft and very finely milled. It swatches quite sheer but is buildable which makes it perfect for the newbie to contouring as you don’t need too light a hand and you won’t end up looking like an orange clown!
I find it extremely easy to blend on the skin, the overall effect is quite a natural looking summer glow (the shade would show up more prominent on fairer skin).
Like most of my face makeup, this lasts about 5-6 hours before becoming oily and starts fading. This powder retails for USD$50 for 0.35 oz.
