I recently purchased a bunch of Zoya nail polishes to try them out and boy, am I impressed. Overall the texture is fine, easy to apply and streak-free. Today I will review a pretty shade called Adina 🙂
Adina is a brilliant metallic duo-chrome in my favourite colours, with a base of eggplant purple and a shimmery green on the top. In certain light there is a red hue which gives it more warmth.
Here’s what the website says about it:
Zoya Nail Polish in Adina can be best described as: Violet metallic multichrome. A frosty hint of green and magenta creates a unique “oil-slick” look.
And this is what it looks like on my nails:
A single layer gives a nice sheer colour that is quite understated and two makes it opaque with the effect that you’ve just stepped out as the evil queen Maleficent from Disney’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’ (you know, the one who turns into a dragon at the end just before Prince Philip slays her!). There is just a light shimmer which makes Adina very suitable for both work and play and I think it’s more of a mature nail polish than most I’ve tried.
The only gripe I would have with Zoya is their brush applicator – it feels quite stiff and synthetic and while I had no problems using it, it just doesn’t feel as nice and tends to need more work putting on the polish over the whole nail.
Would I purchase this again? Heck yes. 🙂
The polish retails for about USD 8.00, and Zoya polishes are available from Secret Allure.
