Welcome to another installation of Blogs We Read ๐Ÿ™‚

Right now we’re still on the good ol’ favorites; the ones we read before we got into blogging ourselves. Have you discovered these blogs yet?

Musings of a Muse: This is a lady after our hearts, who shares with us a love of all things geek. Her appreciation of Asian skincare and beauty makes her blog accessible to a wide range of audiences and she writes with a great sense of humor. While most blogs these days tend to be quite descriptive and clinical about reviews (including ours), the Muse injects her blog entries with trivia and humor, and that writing style alone is more than enough to keep us coming back for more. The Muse also writes about budget beauty finds which are a great guide to what’s rocking in US drugstores. Plus, she posts 4 or 5 new posts each time I go to her blog (which is almost every day) so it’s always fun to get new stuff to read.

Karen Cheng’s Fashion and Life: This lovely mother of three adorable boysย is a fashionista who chronicles her love of fashion, shares her looks and her family life with her readers. Karen writes in a candid and warm manner which has garnered her a loyal following of international readers. We love Karen for the amazing photographs she takes and the way she writes about the small moments that make her life meaningful. We envy Karen’s incredible flair for fashion and her perpetually expanding shoe collection. And we keep reading Karen because she is down-to-earth, humble, full of optimism and believes in the power of love and laughter ๐Ÿ™‚ In other words, we have much to learn from this beautiful lady.

Joey Chong: Joey is a gorgeous Singaporean girl who doesn’t just love makeup – she lives it. As a makeup artist, she creates incredible, stylish looks to cater to every whim and fancy. She is also always on top of new trends, collections, colours and products, carefully selecting the best of the best to test on herself and her customers alike. Her reviews are always informative and detailed – her blog is one we immediately dash to for the latest and greatest (and price listings of each product too, bless). We are particularly big fans of her nail colour posts and collection rundowns. Her monthly ‘Five Favourite Items’ posts are also our regular go-tos.

Beautyholics Anonymous: One of the very first blogs we discovered, Tine takes great pictures and writes comprehensive reviews on both Asian and Australian skincare and makeup. If you’re a new blogger, check out her Bloggie Wednesday posts, where she shares useful blogging tips such as how to overcome blogger’s block, how to approach negative feedback, how to host your blog, and so on. We think that bloggers like Tine inspire us to develop a close and supportive a blogging community; posts such as Bloggie Wednesday and her coverage on the Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend are written with candor (backed up with facts! The academics in us love facts) and are guides we can refer to. Tine is also a jewelry artist, so check out her blog shop Sweet Contemplations Accessories for beautifully handmade jewelry.

That’s all for today folks! Happy weekend ๐Ÿ™‚
