Hi ladies, hope the week has started off on a great note for all of you!
Today’s post will offer a peek into OPI’s highly coveted new Spring Brights 2011 collection – OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection II, inspired by the upcoming movie, Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides which is due for international release on 28 May.
For a closer look at the colours, keep reading!
This collection consists of six shades, all quirkily named as per true OPI tradition, and a special Silver Shatter lacquer which you’re supposed to apply over your regular nail colour. As it dries, the surface “cracks”, creating a shattered effect.
Here are the colours:
L-R: Silver Shatter, Skull and Glossbones, Steady as She Rose, Sparrow Me the Drama, Planks a Lot, Stranger Tides and Mermaid’s Tears
And here’s a better look at them up close and personal (both on their own and with a layer of Silver Shatter over them):
I really like that this collection seems to really fit the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, with all the shades being glossy and milky. Stranger Tides and Mermaid’s Tears in particular definitely bring the movie to mind! My favourite has to be Steady as She Rose, though – there is something so feminine about that shade of pastel pink. And they all look so good with Silver Shatter layered over them – much edgier than if the colours were worn on their own.
A bottle of OPI nail polish retails at SGD 22.00 at most Sephora outlets throughout the Lion City-State, and if I recall correctly, MYR 55.00 at selected Shins outlets in Malaysia. Do check out this collection (and all of OPI’s other amazing colours!) when you can!
Update: if any of you are interested in purchasing these colours, I know someone selling Silver Shatter at SGD 15.00 per bottle and the other Pirates colours at SGD 12.00 per bottle! Leave a comment if you want to know more!
