Hey ladies, we’re back with the second installment to our Holiday 2010 First Look series! This time around, we’re going to take a peer about at the collections of Shu Uemura, Estee Lauder, MAC and Urban Decay.

Curious yet? Keep reading – all the good stuff’s after the jump!

Shu Uemura

Playful, bright, animatedly vivid, and designed and inspired by renowned Japanese pop artist Aya Takano is what the Shu Uemura Christmas Collection with Aya Takano 2010 is all about. The collection comprises two palettes – the ultra-cute baby pink and blue Reindeer Kiss Palette and a shimmering brown and yellow shaded Bowwow! Magic Queen Palette, a limited edition High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Advanced Formula, two lip gloss/tints in Love Apricot and Harmony Pink, a blush tint in Miracle Cherry, an adorably packaged Peace and Harmony Mini Brush Set, and two variants of Shu Uemura’s famous false eyelashes (Magical Winds, with little stars and hearts on it, and the feathery doll-like Dream Coaster). Shu Uemura has always executed bright colours with flair, and this collection is no exception. The eye-catching (and very pink!) packaging is also a huge draw. All in all, a collection to check out if you seek to dazzle with a wide-eyed anime-inspired look this holiday season.

Estee Lauder

Under the creative direction of Tom Pecheux, Estee Lauder has made great strides in shaking off its ‘Aunty’ image – you can even see it in its Holiday 2010 looks which are both current and classic. Estee Lauder has come up with two separate looks for the 2010 holiday season: Pure Color Extravagant and Pure Color Golden. Extravagant pairs warm, earthen eye colours and boldly lined and mascared eyes with delicately bronzed cheeks and striking red lips (see lip colours, glosses and lip palette) for a gorgeous evening look. Golden, on the other hand, uses the same products but their components are blended differently to create a soft bronzed lips, smoky brown eyes and a matte complexion – an ideal daytime look for the festive season. All in all, Estee Lauder excels with these tres chic looks for the holidays.

MAC

MAC has released an interesting collection for the holidays called A Tartan Tale. This collection is chock-full of colour and splash – and to put it mildly, it is massive. Apart from individually sold tartan- patterned blushes and eyeshadows, pretty (very) glittery lip glosses, eye pencils in varying shades of green and blue (must be the Scottish influence), MAC has also come up with ranges of lip, eye and face kits, lip, eye and brush bags, lip, eye and nail kits, and exclusive Mineralize kits. And by the way – the packaging is oh-so-cute! All in all, a very comprehensive and versatile holiday collection that’s got something to offer any girl no matter what she may be looking for. Be warned that it’s not the most affordable of ranges out there though!

Urban Decay

Let’s round this entry up with two striking offerings from our friends who love their colour and sparkle – Urban Decay. The Book of Shadows Vol. III look is all about bursting blue and violet colours for the eyes and glossy nude lips. The look is created with the Book of Shadows Vol. III pop-up 16-eyeshadow palette, an additional dark matte shadow and eyeliner for oomph,  cream highlighter and bronzer for cheeks, and a shiny neutral lip gloss. The second look, Jackpot, also underplays lips while mixing up the eyes by combining contrasting bright gold and teal eye colours with long, fluttery false lashes. The look is achieved with the help of the 24/7 Jackpot Mini Eye Pencil Set (nine colours!), Urban Lash falsies in Little Wing, and sheer lip gloss. All in all, Urban Decay has created two amazing looks for girls who dare to stand out and strut their stuff.

That wraps up Part II of our First Looks series for Christmas/New Years 2010. Thanks for reading, and keep your eye out for more First Looks to come soon!
