Am really excited because I stumbled onto a brand new find. So brand new that even the staff themselves haven’t gone through the full training on the products. But it’s REVAMPED and NEW!

*Drumroll*

The Body Shop’s Vitamin C line is revamped and The Body Shop KLCC is currently the only place that stocks the new products! The original Vit C line has been favorably reviewed online in websites like www.totalbeauty.com and you may remember that I’ve purchased the serum (but have yet to try it enough to review).

This is what I got:

Vitamin C Microdermabrasion - Photo: Author's Own

This microdermabrasion scrub is purported to have the following  (click on the pic to get the link to the official bodyshop.com page):

  • Ultra-fine exfoliating garnet particles stimulate cell renewal and leave skin incredibly soft and smooth.
  • Contains Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature. Antioxidant Vitamin C encourages production of collagen, improves elasticity and protects against damaging environmental aggressors.
  • Nourishing Community Trade shea butter softens and refines skin.

So what’s new with this line anyway?

Apparently, this line has been enriched with Amazonian camu camu. Camu camu is rich in vitamin C and is 10x more effective than the previous formula, or so I’ve been told by the SA. A quick search on Wiki states that camu camu is a tree that bears a cherry-like fruit, and “offers astringent, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-viral, emollient and nutritive properties and contains natural beta-carotene, calcium, iron, niacin, phosphorus, protein, riboflavin, thiamin and the amino acids valine, leucine and serine. This makes Camu-camu invaluable for metabolic processes, including the formation of white blood cells, maintaining a healthy immune system, and support for the brain, lymph glands, heart and lungs.”

So it sounds almost too good to be true, and I’ve yet to review but am so excited to do so. The Vit C line is great for dull skin and can be used to supplement your existing skincare (which is why there’s no toner for this range – it’s not a skincare ‘range’ per se).

I got this for RM75/75ml (RM1/ml!!) Will definitely update you guys soon : )

  1. I used TBS Vitamin C exfoliant in the old range before, and it’s great. It has very very minuscule granules, so my skin feels really clean and smooth after that. I don’t notice any difference in term of skin tone or radiance though, cos it’s just a scrub after all. And I can’t justify the expensive price tag for a scrub. 😦

  2. Hi foongjin! Good to see you here again. I love miniscule granules (like Clinique’s 7-day scrub, have you tried?). I’ll definitely keep a look out for the skin tone and radiance. To be honest, it was a super impulse buy (“OMG, it’s NEW and only in KLCC for now!!”). Let’s see if it’s worth the price tag : )
